Week In Geek- Legion Bids Farewell, Avengers Re-Assemble, Harry Potter Go

Geeklings, it’s that time of the week where the weekend has ended, a full work week lays on the horizon, you’re kind of dragging your feet, and the weather is gorgeous but you’re sitting at your desk daydreaming of a time where you wouldn’t be sitting at your desk and daydreaming. It’s a tough way to be. Good thing I Am Geek is here for you like we are each and every Monday. Mondays bite and we want to make that bite sting a little less. Maybe even make it a love bite. Is that creepy? It could be creepy… let’s talk about the fact that we’ll be covering all the awesome you have to look forward to this week! Cause here at I Am Geek Monday’s are for the Week In Geek! Happiest of happy days.

We are coming off a super productive week here at I Am Geek where views were through the roof. Part of that was my enraging of the Cult of Snyder, which turned in my favor as more people liked that post/column then sent me venomous tweets, while the rest of you ate up the week’s new content. I just wanted to take a minute and say thanks! I’m always greatly appreciative for all the support you guys send our way, and anytime you click a column or like it on Facebook or even share it, you’re making my little geek heart glow. So, before we jump into this week’s latest Week In Geek, I just wanted to say thanks! Numbers are up and ahead of last year which means the site is growing which is all types of awesome. Big things ahead Geeklings. Big. Things.

But, you’re not here to hear me ramble on about how good statistically we did last week. You’re here for some reading and to have your hype levels raised. I mean it’s Monday, what else would you be here for? Let’s get started, shall we?

Image result for legion season 3Legion Final Season Premiere- If you’ve been following the site over the last three years then you know that I am a huge fan of FX’s Legion, which takes the classic Marvel X-Men character and builds one of the trippiest shows imaginable around him. There is seriously nothing on tv quite like Legion and tonight will see the season premiere of the show’s final season. While it’s a bummer to see the show go, I’m always delighted when a show goes out on its terms choosing to tell the story they set out to opposed to pushing things and losing sight of the narrative. Season two ended on a dark note as we learned that it was David who destroyed the future that One Armed Syd came from. Seemingly embracing his powers for evil, David takes off with Lenny as the rest of the group is left wondering if they can prevent the future. You know, classic X-Men stuff. Season three promises to bring more of the bonkers visuals that we’ve grown accustomed to along with the appearance of David’s actual father Professor X (whaaaaaaaat?!) something the show has been heavily alluding to. On top of that, we’re getting a longer episode order (Yes!), more time travel, and the rich character moments we’ve grown to love about this series. While I’m sad to see Legion go, I’m all types of excited to see how we get to the finish line. I honestly have zero clue what’s going to happen but be sure to tune in to my reviews every Tuesday over at Fan Fest News

Image result for avengers endgameAvengers Endgame- As we discussed last week, the non-re-release re-release of Avengers Endgame should be happening this weekend, even though I haven’t seen it advertised anywhere other than Kevin Feige’s mouth. Eight minutes of new footage. A Stan Lee tribute. And the quest to defeat Avatar. What more motivation could you possibly need?

Wizards Unite.pngHarry Potter: Wizards Unite- Have you ever sat back and thought, “Man, I wish there was a Pokemon Go type game but for Harry Potter”? If so, let me tell you, you’re in luck! Released last week Harry Potter: Wizards Unite takes everything you loved about Pokemon Go and replaces it with magic! I have yet to venture into this game, unlike the first few days of Go, but from what I hear it’s very similar and also a bit more complex. There are times where it plays like a more typical RPG and there’s something about spell energy being important, and while the first few minutes may seem overwhelming it’s important to stick with and get a feel for the land. Plus, you can play with friends and if you’re a Harry Potter nerd there’s a good chance you need this in your life like yesterday. I mean, how long have you wanted to walk around the universe of Harry Potter, casting spells, and getting your Hogwarts on? This most certainly has my attention.

There you have it Geeklings, all the best of the best of this upcoming week. What are you looking forward to the most? Is there something you’re particularly pumped about that didn’t make the list? Be sure to sound off in the comments or throw me a line over on Twitter @iamgeek32. Be sure to keep an eye on I Am Geek all week as we’re going to have a bunch of new content to get you hyped for Stranger Things, comics, and whatever else comes our way this week. Until then friends…
