Geeklings, I had a couple of columns in mind for today and one of them concerns Stranger Things (yes again but it’s a character theory and you know those are fun) and the other I was flipping around in the Bullpen for. But I couldn’t fall in love with the idea of writing any of those columns today. Just wasn’t feeling them. To be honest part of it is laziness the other part is I’d really like to read my book until ATL comes on.
Now this begs the question, “what will you write about Kevin?” Well, I’m glad you asked Geeklings because I’ve had a pretty eventful day. Allow me to catch you up.
- The day started when I returned from my morning walk and checked Instagram to find I head a message waiting from me from a user I didn’t recognize. The message was about a site called My Trending Story which seems to employ a number of different blog writers. They wanted me to email them back about an exciting opportunity and yes they left it that vague. After I checked to make sure this wasn’t some sort of scam, and I’m 97% sure that it’s not (if you have info by all means feel free to share it with me), I sent them an email about said oppurtunity. I’ll let you know when I hear back from them. I’m wondering if they want to link I Am Geek to their site or have me write separate columns, either way I’m sort of interested with the prospect. We shall see but getting compliments on your writing wasn’t a bad way to start the day.
- Fan Fest News sent an email out today informing everyone of who will be covering what fall television shows, and I’m happy to announce that I’ll be covering The Walking Dead and Luke Cage. I see both of these shows as huge wins especially the Walking Dead A show that has a crazy amount of viewers and always generates a number of hits on Fan Fest is now mine to review. Feeling pretty good about this. It’s all about building and building and I feel that we’re taking this writing thing in the right direction.
- Finally, and this one is kind of silly but also sort of randomly cool, outside of our very own Maggie Carr (who should be back this week with a new piece but she is rehearsing a new play so don’t pressure her) I am now friends with my very first IMDB approved actress. That’s right! Her name is Angela Relucio and she’s on the show Code Black. I have no idea how she found me (she didn’t like any of my pics so I don’t know if it was my hashtag game) but I’m not going to lie, she instantly became my new favorite actress and gave a wee bit of an ego boost. Making waves in the social media department now.
There you have it guys. Not a lot of info but a pretty exciting day none the less. We’re kicking in doors and making waves as we bring 2016 to a close. I’m telling you Geeklings, stick with I Am Geek. We’re just getting started.
A lot of bloggers have been contacted by mytrendingstories. I haven’t (should I be offended?) but what I do know just from seeing that name all over the blogosphere is that they started up recently (within the last year) and basically either ask bloggers to become writers or they ask to republish something you already wrote. I don’t know how legit they are and I don’t mean to minimize your happiness/accomplishment, but just a heads up.

You’re not minimizing at all. My immediate reaction was to be skeptical of it. Thanks for the info man.
