Geeklings, Happy Monday! How is everyone doing today? Everyone enjoy their weekends? Mine wasn’t too bad. In fact, a bit of a life-changing event, the Adorable Creature has officially moved into the Fortress of Nerditude. That’s right my friends! We be living together. Pretty cool, right? More on that as the week progresses though. Right now it’s the start of the week and that could only mean one thing.
Week In Geek!!!
I mean seriously, how else would you guys start your week? Let’s do this.
1. First Images of Brie Larson as Captain Marvel- If you follow us at our Facebook page, and you should, then you would have seen that I posted our first glimpse of Brie Larson in her Captain Marvel suit. The interwebs seem to be a bit divided because, I’m not sure if you noticed this, that suit is green opposed to the red, blue, and yellow that is currently seen in the comics. There are a number of theories going around from the suit being green for special effects to it’s green for her Kree heritage (the theory I’m leaning towards) but either way, it’s awesome to finally catch a glimpse of how the character is going to look. It seems like it’s been a long time since Marvel announced that Larson signed on as the character and there hasn’t been much else. I know Captain Marvel is supposed to be in Avengers 4 but I wouldn’t be surprised if you see her show up in Infinity War. No matter the color though, I have to say that suit is pretty dope.
2. Super Bowl LII- Whether you’re a fan of the big game, tune in just for the halftime show, or just can’t help betting on coin tosses you can not deny that the Super Bowl is a pop culture powerhouse. All I ask for is that the gods are kind and that the Philidelphia Eagles walk away with a Super Bowl loss. As a Giants fan, there is no way that I can cheer them on. At all. In fact, their winning would only make this shitty season even worse. Otherwise, I’m hoping for a good game.
3. Commercials/Trailers- There are other things that go on Super Bowl Sunday besides football. Things like trailers and commercials. While I’ll be the first to admit that commercials have been kind of “meh” the last couple of years, the trailers, on the other hand, have been all types of awesome. Remember last year, when we got our first glimpse of Stranger Things season two? What can we expect this year? I have no idea. Maybe a new Infinity War tv spot? Maybe our first look at the Han Solo movie? Perhaps Jessica Jones? Who knows, but the discovery is one of the best parts of the game. Especially when you’re team isn’t in it.
4. The Good Place season 2 finale- I’m saving my full write of The Good Place for, after the finale, dear god do I have thoughts, buuuuuuut the season finale is on Thursday and the Adorable Creature and I, after a box of wine, are officially all caught up with this fantastic program. Season one ended on quite the twist and one thing this show has become tremendous at is its ability to reinvent itself. Can’t wait to see what they give us in this finale. And we won’t have to stress because it’s already been picked up for season three. Fork yeah!
There you have it Geeklings. What are you looking forward to the most this week? Is it football? Is it the commercials? Bri Larson and her super cool Captain Marvel costume? Or something that didn’t even make the list. Sound off in the comments below, our Facebook page, or you can find me on Twitter @iamgeek32. Let’s get ourselves ready for this week.
