Geeklings, ’tis the season of spooky movies and I feel like I’m in desperate need of some suggestions. I mean, we’re already halfway through October, give or take, and I am really behind on my horror game. Usually, I’m watching horror movies to the point where I’m equal parts immune to them and never want to sleep again.
I think part of my problem is I’m too far out of the game. I’m not sure what the best new horror movies are. This is a weird thing for me to say because three years ago I was on top of my game… I think. Don’t get me wrong, I’m still watching a ton of horror but there are so many of those indie life ruiners that I don’t know about.
Now I’m turning to you. I’m looking to turn the second half of October into a horror movie fest, and I need your suggestions. I’m currently working my way through Netflix’s new series Haunting of Hill House which, two episodes in, has been stellar. Very atmospheric and creepy as hell. I’m here for this and kind of want to plow through the rest of it this weekend but doubt I’ll be able to. There’s football to watch tomorrow, even though the Giants can’t ruin my Sunday, and errands to be run. Plus, it’s not one of those shows that I want to watch during the day, you know? I want creepy night time for a creepy show.
After that, I’ve got the new Netflix movie, Apostle starring Dan Stevens of Legion fame. Then there’s the new Halloween movie coming up next weekend and The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. Which all means there are things to watch buuuuuuut I want more.
Geeklings, give me your best horror movie suggestions either in the comments here, Twitter (@iamgeek32), or on the Facebook page. We can even start a thread full of horror suggestions so we can each live our best October. Now, 1-2-3 GO!
