Geeklings, let me tell you the holidays have been kicking my ass. I had plans, grand plans, to do a column a day where we would be counting down to my favorite things of the year. I even went so far as to write the number ten spot. I was ready for it and figured if I wrote a column a day, only doubling up once, I should have things set up where the number one spot would land on New Years Day.

Awesome, right? Well, that’s not how things are going to work out. I’m bummed because there are a lot of items that deserve to have columns dedicated to them. But the holidays kind of messed everything up. Like I said the ten spot was written and was supposed to be posted on Monday buuuuuuuut I forgot to post it. That set me back a little. Then Christmas happened and no post. Set back even further. Yesterday was New Comic Book Day aaaaaand we know what that resulted in. Yep, even further behind. Yay!

Geeklings, there’s no way I’m going to have time to write a column for each item. I just don’t have the time to do so. I’m going to have to call an audible and do things a little differently. Here’s my new plan of attack. I think this weekend I’m going to write Part 1 of the Best of 2018 which will contain items 10-6. There will be write-up and reasons for why they were selected, and some might just run longer than others. Think of it like the Week In Geek or the Pull List but with the awesome things from the year.

Monday there will be no new content as me and the Adorable Creature will be hosting a pajama New Year’s Eve party, you’re more than welcome to come join us, which means as soon as I get home from work it’s right into host mode. Then party mode. Then… recovery.

During that recovery, I will write Part 2 of the Best of 2018 and that will include the remainder of the list. And that will complete the task. I know that we kind of change up how we do the Best of the Year awards every year but I kind of like this It gives me the freedom to cover everything and it’s something new and exciting.
