Week In Geek- Return of Rick & Morty, and SDCC Fall Out

Holy crap Geeklings, I just spent the last hour and a half writing my Game of Thrones review for Fan Fest and I’m pretty sure it’s turned my mind to mush. Just so much to unpack. Don’t get me wrong, I had a blast doing it but the idea of writing another column right now seems a bit daunting. Give me a moment to kind of collect myself a bit.

….

I think I’m alright. Here’s hoping because we’ve got a number of exciting things to discuss, starting with our number one spot…

rick-and-morty-season-31. Rick and Morty Season Three- Seems like it’s been a long time since the first episode of season three premiered on April Fools Day, and I’ve been jonesing for some Rick and Morty ever since. Well, the wait is finally over as episode two of season three arrives Sunday at 11:30 pm and the world is a better place. One of my favorite aspects of Rick and Morty is how the show is constantly evolving and the arrival of season three looks to be a little darker, if you believe Rick, and it leaves some tremendous promise for story telling. Sundays are for Game of Thrones and Rick and Morty and I’m hard pressed to find a better day of the week.

2. Thor: Ragnarok SDCC trailer- My mind is literally mush at this point and I’m not sure if I have it in me to write a whole lot more so I think I’m going to post the items on the list and circle back to them during the week if that’s okay with everyone. It is? You guys are the best! In the short term though is this trailer rocked. In fact, it ragnaroked! See what I did there?

3. Justice League SDCC trailer- This looked way better than expected and the fact that DC is centering it around Wonder Woman is a brilliant strategy on their part. Maybe there’s a bit of hope to this franchise but with the latest news of reshoots and having to digitally remove Superman’s mustache I’m not holding my breath.

4. Defenders SDCC trailer- August can’t come soon enough. Jessica Jones looks like she’s going to be the show stealer here and I’m all for it. Four seasons of Netflix Marvel super hero shows coming together quite nicely if you ask me. Bring on the Hand!

Alright guys I’m going to fold. Sorry, this is sort of lame today but at least you’re getting fun trailers to watch. I’ll be back tomorrow when my mind is a little less mushy to break down the Stranger Things SDCC trailer (there was a reason why I left it off here) and shift into the rest of the week.
