You know, I almost didn’t come here to post. It wasn’t that I didn’t want to see you guys. I always want to stop in and see you guys but sometimes the day doesn’t give me enough time or energy to do so. No today’s lack of writing would have been brought about by my Preacher review over at Fan Fest and a secret project that I can’t really get into yet as it’s in the early stages. I will say this, that I’m super excited and hope I can report back soon with what’s going on. Did I get your interest? Of course, I did as I am the master of intrigue.
There are a number of subjects I want to cover here, I still have to do my month in reading column, but it just seems that lately that I haven’t had the time which is why you get posts like the one you’re currently reading. I’d rather write something opposed to nothing. I know, woe is the writer who is writing something but not the intended subject.
Anyway, I have a rare Tuesday to myself as Jennifer, you know here as my sister and co-host on the I Am Geek Podcast, will not be joining me for television viewing tonight. As discussed on episode ten of the podcast, we’ve kind of hit a rut when it comes to viewing so maybe we can use the week to figure out what we want to attack next. Maybe I can talk her into Mr. Mercedes. Jen, can we watch Mr. Mercedes?
As for me, I plan on eating some quiche, cooked by Mama Dukes, with some french fries and catching up on some Orphan Black. A few weeks ago, probably a month or so ago, I had to give up writing reviews for the show because I didn’t feel like I could do it justice. New episodes were on Saturday and I either wasn’t home or watching on Sundays because I do try and maintain some semblance of a social life. I didn’t feel like it was fair to the show or to Fan Fest so I bowed out so I could really put my energy into those Game of Thrones and Preacher reviews, and that has been working out swimmingly.
But it means I’ve missed Orphan Black. Both literally and… not literally? Sorry, brain fart. I don’t know if it’s because I gave the show up and I’m punishing myself, but I haven’t watched an episode since I gave up the reviews, and with the series finale this weekend I felt that I was in need of some binge watching. Luckily I’ve managed to stay away from specific spoilers (go me!) which will lead to a good watching experience. If I can get two or three episodes in tonight I will deem the evening a success.
Although I should probably cut myself off at two so I can re-watch Rick and Morty to prep for my episode review tomorrow. No rest for the wicked I suppose. Honestly, I just want to be in my chair eating food and watching programs. Hopefully tomorrow I can get to my reading list.
