Spider-Man Far From Home Trailer

Man, Marvel is keeping this trailer train rolling into the New Year with a newly released trailer to Spider-Man Far From Home. A trailer that dropped about a month ago during Brazil Comic-Con and is just now making its world debut. And we are very thankful!

There is a lot to take away from this one. For starters, where in the MCU timeline does this fall? Is this pre-Infinity War or post-Endgame? I’m leaning towards pre-Infinity War otherwise this trailer becomes one massive spoiler.

We get our first look at Jake Gyllenhaal as Mysterio. And. He. Looks. Sick! I loved that they stuck with the classic fishbowl helmet. It also looks like he’s fighting Hydro-Man. Does that mean Mysterio starts off as a hero? Also, was that Sandman in there?

I love the idea of Nick Fury being the character to bridge Spider-Man into the major MCU Universe. Sure, you can argue Iron Man has done that but he’s kind of kept Peter at arm’s length since Civil War. If it was up to Stark, Parker would have sat on the sidelines during Infinity War. Fury looks to thurst Spidey directly into the fire.

Did anyone else possibly notice… Gwen Stacy? I thought I saw her running around a few times throughout the trailer.

I have this strange suspicion that this trailer is only dealing with the first half of the movie. Maybe that has to do with not knowing where in the timeline the film falls or maybe because there is something bigger underneath all the Hydro-Man battles, I don’t know. But I suspect Far From Home will be a big one for the post-Endgame MCU.

Going to turn it over to you guys now. I’m still pretty sick and laid up in bed, but couldn’t let a new Spider-Man trailer go without a few thoughts. What did you guys think? Are you happy with what you saw? Does Far From Home confuse you timeline wise? What are you hoping to see out of this Spider-Man sequel? Sound off in the comments or throw me a line on Twitter @iamgeek32. 2019 certainly feels like it’s going to keep all that Spidey momentum and I’m here for it!
