Geeklings, I’m baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack. Did you miss me?! I certainly missed you guys. I think that’s the longest I’ve gone without writing in quite some time, but it was worth it. I had a lovely vacation with the Adorable Creature as we traveled to the West Coast to visit her family. I drank some awesome wine. Saw some awesome sights, including the Full House house. And enjoyed awesome company. Not a bad way to spend a week off.
Now that I’m back though it’s time to start getting back into the grind and shaking off that writing rust. You’d be surprised how quickly that builds having taken a week off. I just wrote a Mr. Robot review for Fan Fest and it took a little longer than expected because I had to find that rhythm again. I’m a strong believer in the fact that writing is all about repetition and rhythm, and even such a short period off can throw it off. I’ll be fine by the end of this column… I hope.
I decided not to write a major post today and thought I’d stop in and say hi because it’s been awhile. Over the last week, I’ve been thinking about the end of the year stuff here at I Am Geek and how it might be time to change it up a bit. Over the last couple of years, the best of the year comes out as a ten-day column fest where I break down everything I loved about the year one by one. I’ve been thinking though that it might be time for a change. Maybe this year instead of a countdown I’ll do subject posts. For example, a whole column dedicated to the best tv of 2017. Another column would be the best movies of 2017 and so on and so forth. This way I’m able to cover more things that otherwise get omitted in the countdown style best of. Plus, if it’s my favorite thing of the year chances are I’ve already written about it. I don’t want to get overly repeative.
What do you guys think? That something you’d like to see or should we stick to the current format? Sound off in the comments below, on our Facebook page, or on Twitter (@iamgeek32). I think I’ve made up my mind but I’m always anxious to hear from you guys.
Outside of that, I’m just trying to catch up on things. I’m like three episodes behind on Arrow and one behind on the Walking Dead and Flash. I need to finish Sleeping Beauties before I pull my hair out. And on top of all that Star Wars is right around the corner. So much to do Geeklings before the year ends. I’m happy to be spending it with all you though. Going to be fun!
