Geeklings, how’s it going? I know a very rare Friday post but I found myself missing you guys. I really wanted to write a post yesterday buuuuuut I didn’t want to take away from the newest episode of the podcast (which you can find here if you were looking but you’ve probably listened already…right?). Needless to say that decision has brought me here today. Crazy, right? Not really. But that’s a little peak into the creative mind set over here at I Am Geek.
Not going to be a lot of substance today just wanted to pop in and see what everyone is up to this weekend. We’ve got a pretty full boat over in the I Am Geek camp. Starting tomorrow with the pursuit of NYC Comic Con tickets. That’s right, I got the email the other day that I was illegible for the pre-sale (I knew that already but didn’t know the date) and that tickets would be on sale tomorrow at 11 a.m., and I am pumped! Having the ability to get tickets before they go on sale to the general public is a little less stressful and could really kick off the summer for me. How great would it be on April 29th knowing that I have comic con tickets already? Pretty freaking great! We’re aiming to go two days this year, something I haven’t done in awhile, which means we’re totally going to make an adventure out of it. Expect an awesome podcast episode to come out of that. But I’m getting ahead of myself as I haven’t gotten any tickets yet. Keep your fingers crossed for yours truly as around eleven o’clock I start to internally stress as I wait to see if I get my passes. Seriously, there is nothing worse than waiting to get comic con tickets stress.
Once that’s all done there’s plenty left to do with the weekend. Saturday I’ve got myself a date with Gandalf the Kindle because I’ve got to finish my latest book before the month ends, and I don’t have a lot of time. I’d also like to finish so I can write it up in my month in review column next week. I won’t be giving you the title because… well, I don’t have a real reason I just want to wait till next weeks column is all. I’ve really been enjoying this read but I am anxious to get to other things. I feel like my reading progress has been a little slower this year. I’ll explain this a little more next week though. For now all I care about is seeing how this thing wraps. I expect heartbreak. Also Saturday, if time slots match up, we’ll be recording episode five of the podcast. This weeks topic came from Jen and I’m really excited about exploring it. Should be some really good stuff. Episode five baby!
On top of that Sunday I’ll be heading to the city to check out the Museum of Modern Art with a certain adorable creature (hiiiiiii adorable creature!!). I haven’t been in quite some time, as a matter of fact, the last time I was there was to check out a Tim Burton exhibit (I touched Michael Keaton’s Batman mask…shhhhh don’t tell. I wasn’t supposed to do that). I’m really looking forward to it and watching as my companion geeks out over the paintings. She’s an art geek. I also may be stopping into Midtown Comics to get a hat… yesssssss, just a hat. Going to top that adventure off with a little American Gods at night. Which I mentioned in the Week In Geek.
Like I said Geeklings, we’ve got a pretty full weekend over here at I Am Geek. I know this is taking my idea of writing more personal posts a little far, it’s essentially just mapping out my weekend, but I didn’t have a solid subject to touch on. What do you expect from me? It’s Friday and my mind is mush. I really just wanted to pop in to say hello.
How about you guys? Any big plans for the weekend? Sound off in the comments below or on the Faceyspace page. I’ll try and stop in tomorrow with an update on the comic con tickets. I’m hoping that’s a post full of exclamation points.
Oh! Before I forget, today is National Super Hero day so be sure to read a bunch of comic books or watch your favorite comic book movies. Treat yo self!
Side Note- I found the cover photo for this post by typing in “geeky weekend” into Google. I am not disappointed. Alright, I’m really leaving now.
